Grade 316 is the standard molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade, particularly higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. It is readily brake or roll formed,welded, soldered and cut by both thermal and mechanical methods.
316L Stainless Steel Strip
316L is actually a stainless steel material, which contains a certain amount of Mo element. The performance of this steel has exceeded that of 301 steel and 304 stainless steel. It has a very wide range of applications. Even in high-temperature environment, it will not be eroded and corroded by high temperature. It can also be used in the marine environment, and will not be polluted by some outer air, resulting in corrosion.

316 Stainless Steel is easily welded by all commercial processes. If forging or hammer welding it is recommended to anneal after these processes to help avoid unwarranted corrosion.
Sometimes known by industry professionals as marine grade stainless for its uncanny ability to resist pitting corrosion.
316 can be used in applications when non-magnetic metal is required because of its unique composition.
316L
316L stainless steel strip has good corrosion resistance in the production process of pulp and paper industry. The 316L stainless steel belt is also resistant to the erosion of the ocean and corrosive industrial atmosphere.
In intermittent applications below 1600 degrees, 316 stainless steel strips have good oxidation resistance. 316L stainless steel strip has better resistance to carbide precipitation than ordinary 316-grade stainless steel.
